Just saw this thread and the multiple references to the Wheel of Time series. For those of you who enjoy the complexity of fantasy series like that I'd suggest Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erickson. It can be a challenging read but it is so rich it's mind boggling... Just a stunningly beautiful and immersive work of fantasy.

I left partway through the second episode. I found it tedious, and fast forwarding through commercials made it even more so. (Have read the book, and seen prior version.)

Really wanted to like it, really didn't check off the boxes for me.
