I absolutely agree. A 2-3" k-frame (or equivalent barrel Speed Six, or 3" j-frame), particularly with a bobbed hammer, is hard to beat for informal, lower threat appendix carry. I MUCH prefer this carry when kids, or energetic large dogs, are around that want to play a lot. Much easier to control the gun, much more comfortable rolling around, much less chance of accidentally flashing than if something is back behind my hip. I have carried 4" revolvers like this also, but have gotten pinched a few times by the muzzle when sitting down so I generally only carry the 4" AIWB if I 'need' to (heavier outdoors loads).

I’m looking for bullets, what should I prefer?

“cast swcs, lubed or not, some powder coated swcs”

I like plated, but keep in mind they aren't for the high end magnum velocities. It keeps my dies clean and they shoot well at the velocities I load at.

Plenty in stock and reasonable pricing.

The same company does sell cast bullets, but I think everything is OOS at the moment.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

I have both of these available, which should I prefer for training loads?

Lubed cast will make a fairly significant amount of smoke, which is more of a concern in an indoor range if you overwhelm the ventilation. You'll be shooting in a cloud eventually... Lubed will also cause wax build up in your dies, which isn't a big deal but does mean you'll need to clean them on occasion or things get sticky. I don't know there's any advantage other then cost and no longer use lubed lead, personally.

I don't have much experience with powder coated, and what I do load is in .45 Colt. They are cleaner to handle and load then lubed lead. They can also come in pretty colors, if that's your thing.

Really, any of them work. Just be sure they will handle the velocity you intend to load at. Lead, in particular. Drive it too fast or too slow for the hardness of the particular alloy and you're accuracy will suffer and you'll lead your rifling quickly.

I'm partial to SWC for .357 Magnum loads and WC for .38 loads.

And I would avoid Titegroup with lubed led that has exposed lead on the base.
