I think that is pretty much what has to be done.

I just remembered I’ve got one of those 3” barrels I impulse bought last year. Now I suddenly have an urge to start looking for a cheap(ish) 6” GP...I think that is pretty much what has to be done.

Same. Aside from entertainment and esoteric (but awesome) knowledge, it seems the only practical thing I get out of reading the revolver threads here (I don’t own a single revolver) is a reminder that maybe I should limit my deep dives to the things with slidey parts that move back and forth. That may be the limit of my technical skills, patience, and/or wallet.

I grabbed one of the 3 barrels also and I have a 6 inch GP100. I’ve been having so much fun shooting wadcutters out of it that I’m not sure I want to make the switch!
For me it’s a balance thing. The only revolvers that tend to stick around my accumulation are under 5” although I am trying hard to convince myself to try a 5” GP or 686.
And hookers and blow are becoming more socially acceptable.
