Jeep to release a 392 equipped Wrangler Rubicon

    https://www.jeep.com/wrangler/rubicon-392.html

    470 HP / 470 TQ

    13 second 1/4 mile time.
    0-60 in 4.5

For comparison, the current Camaro SS does the same in 12.3 seconds and 3.9, respectively, while the previous 5th gen is actually 1/10th of a second slower on both metrics then this upcoming Wrangler.

I wonder how many rollovers we'll be seeing?

Jeep to release a 392 equipped Wrangler Rubicon

I think they’ve gone a little too far with Hellcat-ing the regular Jeep. I mean yeah, some of those hand-built rock-crawlers and rock-buggies have some pretty mean v8’s in them but they’re geared so damn low that you probably won’t get any real speed out of them anyways.

    Edit...
I take that back; it’s not Hellcatted, it just pretty much has the same 392 as the regular SRT Challenger and Charger...

But still, that little V6 is plenty for what the Jeep was truly built for.

You'll be in their way now. No more "Wrangler: Faster then walking there."

Off-Road recovery people will be happy. $$$

More people wrecking the drivetrain by stomping on the go pedal in place of thinking their way out of a situation.
Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.

I bet they won't produce or sell many. Then they'll be in demand in a few years on bringatrailer.com

I still don't get how it can run a 13 flat.

Haven't looked at the full specs...but yeah look out for all the busted axles, u-joints, and T-cases from newbs on the trail gunning the gas and getting sudden traction.

    And yeah...probably gonna be a $90,000 jeep.

Just a guess, but I doubt it did it on the tires it's delivered on and on a prepped track, but that's par for the course on manufacturer provided numbers.

That said, with a monster motor, 4WD to help with traction, modern automatic transmissions with previously-though-insane levels of gearing, FCA's focus on launch control performance, and a vehicle that's heavy but not super heavy...I don't doubt it.

Likely $65k + if one can be had around MSRP.

Probably limit production to create demand.

Will sell well. Most who buy expensive wheelers are just fronting.

My brother has $10k adds onto a Rubicon that has never been in 4WD.

Speed limits are still the same even with great 1/4 times.

I guess I'm glad they made it, but I'd be more interested in the 4xe hybrid. 375hp/475ftlb would be plenty, and you might get more than 200 miles without a gas station.
