Thread: Phlster Enigma. A game changer in belt free carry?

  1. #471
I haven't read through the entire thread here but I am looking for a holster that is compatible with the Enigma that is similar to the Keepers Lite version or the Cornerstone. i.e something with a slim area as soon as possible after the trigger guard as you move toward the muzzle. This would be for a 365/XL. No light and no optic. Suggestions?

So its the hoarders causing the shortage!!! How are you set for gas, TP, and ammo?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

2 is 1. 1 is none. At least I am not buying them to sell on ebay. I am good for ammo, TP is just a luxury, and I have a few bicycles.

That’s not really an option at this point since the non light bearing enigma needs the dark wing or modwing to attach to the holster, and it’s designed around that wing in terms of how it creates concealment.

Jon Hauptman did make himself a prototype enigma for a wedge based holster (JMCK George I believe) and mentioned maybe doing a small run of those sometime in the future. That was before the enigma took off the way it did though, so I’d imagine any such plans are on the far back burner in the face of the insane demand that the enigma and LB enigma have created.

    Keep Checking The Phlster Site

I just ordered my ration of two original-version Enigmas. This is my second order of two, which will allow me to soon experiment with other holsters. (My first order of two Enigmas was dedicated to his-and-hers City Specials, but I would rather tote something larger than a J-Snub.) I am still awaiting an opportunity to acquire a light-bearing Enigma, to pair with my Floodlight.

One really needs to keep checking the Phlster site, rather than relying on in-stock notifications. I do not know what Phlster’s notification algorithm is like, but each of my Enigma orders was placed after finding them in-stock, by just randomly and frequently checking the site, at times when I had not received an in-stock notification. I have gotten the occasional in-stock notification, but have never been able to react quickly enough.

Not the hoarders, but the evil-bay flippers. One can readily get Enigmas on evil-bay, for 2x+ the original purchase price. One was bid-up to $460!

My first order of two were dedicated to his-and-hers City Specials, for J-Snubs. I’d much rather tote something larger than a J-Snub, so have been trying to get at least one more Enigma; preferably two. Well, I just, finally, succeeded in ordering two more.

Has anyone done a comparison of the Mastermind Tactics specialist covert belt with the enigma? They seem to be designed for similar purposes.

I see nothing on the Mastermind Tactics site that resembles the Enigma.

The Enigma is a belt, true, but not just a belt. The Enigma is a complete carry system, minus the holster body. The holster body attaches to the Enigma.

Go to the Phlster site, and find a tutorial assembly video.

Yes, I realize they're not the same thing. I already have an enigma and really like it so far. The Specialist Covert also seems to be designed for the purpose of "beltless" carry though, so I was just wondering how the two compared with each other functionally.

LB Enigmmas In-Stock, Late Afternoon 19 May 2021

I got my notification e-mail shortly after 5 P.M., and luckily, more than three hours later, when I noticed, they were still in-stock. I just ordered one. (The limit was two.)
