Oh man I better tell QA to check our test scripts for that. Should be ok, but I just about guarantee nobody ever tried it.

Well, the “L-A” is already a thing, with the dash not being silent. Revolver Rob’s reply mentioned it, and a public sector employee in this county has encountered it.

I had to look up an employee's name because I couldn't find him in the directory and knew there was no way that was his first name (ended up being Marshall Lester). In real life, professionally, he went by Mo.

Back in my Army days, I knew a soldier who had the first and middle name of Princess Guinevere, and another whose first name was Titi.

I have also personally known a Rhea Connor (not a big deal until you read it last name first, first name last), and a Richard Holder.

You know a friend of mine used to joke that Chlamydia would be a lovely name for a girl but of course he didn't do that to his daughter.

    He's right, though, it's a pretty name.

One day this past summer I was standing outside the grocery store waiting for my wife when a woman walked up and looked in the stroller.

"What an adorable baby," she said. "What's his name?"

    "Doctor Teeth," I said.

She looked at me. I looked back blankly.

    "He...his name...he's..."

"Doctor Teeth," I said. "Like the muppet."

My wife arrived as the woman was walking away.

"Were you talking to her?" she asked.

    "Why do you ask?"

"There's an expression some people have after they talk to you."

"Doesn't ring any bells," I said.
When I lived in the city, I'd walk my Doberman around everywhere. She was pretty stoic, and would only listen if you used her name.
Well, I got tired of people telling her to do stuff like "sit", "come here", etc... I started purposely tell people that my dogs name was Jadwiga
and she'd just stare at them blankly when they said stuff. Problem solved.

She was such a good dog... I miss her terribly.
