I've only shot a couple hundred rounds with AA#9, but I really l like it.
I got into AA#9 going on six years ago when I ran out of 2400, and #9 was the only powder I could find any where online that that fit .357 level loads. I haven't done much experimenting with it. I was just looking to run the Berrys' 125 grain plated bullet at about 90% of the Remington SJHP 125 gr. that's my carry load. 13.0 grains AA#9 gave me just what I was looking for. When checked side by side, the handload generally does right around 90% of the velocity of the factory load in the same gun on the same day. About the level of Golden Saber and Gold Dots. Easier on the joints in old hands for 50 to 100 round sessions, but close enough that there's no disconnect when shooting the factory load. I'm up to 20,000 rounds loaded with that combination, (Winchester SMP primers) and I'm very happy with it.

Moving away from the Unique? Great powder, but a little smoky. I know how you feel on the SPP supply situation. I've been hoarding my remaining couple hundred these last few months. You might have seen this already but here is a link with some Skeeter Skelton loads. He had Unique maxed out at 8gr for his 158gr lead top load.

Yeah, I only have a pound left and am holding it for 255gr .45acp loads as the accuracy and velocity is perfect.

I retested my 158gr/7gr unique and was only getting 1050fps

I only have a little aa9 left too. After that its 6lbs of be-86.

I have 3k lpp and a ton of 200 swc to load so I can keep myself busy for a while with my 1911s.

Fortunately I think I have 4-5k loaded rounds of .357 and 7-8krds of .38 so I can still shoot revolvers for a while

You are doing way better than me. Lots of powder but short on primers with 300 38SPECs loaded with BB plated 158gr and Titegroup remaining in reserve.

It helps conserve primers with a single stage

First off, thanks for the work and effort that you have put in to this.

Tell me more about your 170 SWCs. I think I read in another thread where you took a coyote with them? The reason I am interested is by June, hopefully, my daily carry is going to be a Wiley Clapp GP100 and I am going to need a woods load. I do a lot of rucking and I'm apt to stop on the way home to do so. One of the areas I frequent has the opportunity of having feral hogs in my path. I have come upon them before and was able to smell and hear them before I had contact. I have full faith in a hard cast Keith style bullet. I'm just trying to make sure I want the 170s before I order 700 from Rimrock.
