    .357 velocity from a 2.75" barrel

    Finally used the chrono an arfcom member gifted me.

    It was overcast so I got a lot of errors untill I took the screens off.

    2.75v M66-8

    .38 special

    125gr +p sjhp remington factory
    924 fps
    237 ftlbs

    158gr TC hardcast over 5.2gr unique
    830 fps
    242 ftlbs

    130gr jsp over 6gr unique
    847 fps
    207 ft lbs

    .357 Magnum

    130gr jsp over 8gr unique(disappointed)
    960 fps (only one shot registered)
    265 ft lbs

    158gr TC hardcast over 7gr unique(disappointed)
    965 fps
    326 ft lbs

    140gr xtp over 9gr unique

    Typically the AE, remington 125 sjhp and the 158swc with 2400 are painful with any grips but pachymers. I just got some ahrends and i find the gun is much more controllable. I wouldn't hesitate to carry the remington 125 sjhp which recoils the most, except it shoots low.

    The Golden sabers and xtps recoil similarly.

    That doesn't compute. 6 grains of Unique under a 170-grain LSWC in .38 brass went 1070 fps in my 4" M28 (it's an old .38-44 HD load). I'd re-do this load in better conditions, my guess is that it'd come in about 100 fps faster.

    Whats the height on your front sight anyway? Isn't it a meprolight?
