Spring/Follower Kits to Refurb AR Metal Mags?

I've got a few metal magazines that are still in good shape and run well as is, but I'd like to update them. Who makes good kits for these? Need 20 and 30 round versions.

Not sure on springs but I used MAGPUL followers.

I’ve used many Magpul followers and ismi or Wolff springs. I got some 20 round rebuild kits from somewhere a few years ago, but don’t remember where at the moment. Haven’t used them, so no help at all!

I haven’t done the math, but unless it’s for compliance reasons an Okay Surefeed is probably not much more money.

I can get Gen 2 Magpuls for ~$12, might that be a better idea?

I just took a look at Brownells, Magpul followers are out of stock but around $2 each, and no mag springs seem to be in stock but their search is kludgy at best.

I’d buy new mags while you can!

This, in my experience the feed lips spreading or cracking, never the follower or spring have always been the thing that caused me problems in AR mags. I did a bunch of Magpul followers when they first came out years ago to retrofit some of my GI mags, but they have not made an iota of difference or offered any improvement I can detect.

Not much going on, so done some ciphering:

Wolff - 5.00 a spring in spring pack of 10

ISMI - 10.25 each (found no where else after brief search)

    Magpul followers - 1.80 to 2.00 each

    $7.00 to rebuild a mag

    New mags - w/magpul follower

    BCM - D&H - $10.95

    PSA - D&H - $11.99

    Okay Surefeed Mags:

Magshak -Surefeed E2 (dotted body for grip) $12.95 (119.99 for 10) Standard Surefeed - $11.99

    GunMagWArehouse - Standard Surefeed - $11.99

I agree with Stalin that 'quantity has a quality all its own' so I'd opt for new mags at roughly $4.00 to $5.00 more per mag. You double your potential for sending rounds down the barrel without reloading mags.

I'm not familiar with Surefeed mags - equivalent quality to Magpul?

I'm leaning toward Dan's idea, especially since the metal mags I have still work fine.

I get colt springs from specialized armament and magpul followers. 20 round springs are harder to source and I don’t replace those followers if they are aluminum.

I went ahead and ordered ten of these from Gunmagwarehouse. I doubt standard capacity magazines are going to be this cheap again. Thanks to all!
