Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits - Mark Twain

Ignore Alien Orders
Seriously, they would resist corrosion better than music wire (which would normally be nickel plated but nickel cracks) and about as well as 17-7. They would not be nearly as good *as springs.* given that we all run our ARs as wet as a Hawaii honeymoon I think function trumps maintenance.
Ignore Alien Orders
Need? I doubt it, but I have maritime spring cups so I'm not one to judge.
If you are contemplating getting blasted with salt spray while having your AR slung across your chest maybe. And not do basic maintenance afterwards.
I would worry about manufacturing defects as an issue with limited run springs. If enough people adopt them that would settle itself out.
I wonder who got the idea to use Inconel 600 alloy for AR-15 springs. It was not someone who understands spring needs for a rifle. If the springs get hot or cold enough to need the properties of Inconel 600, the rifle is going to be much too hot or much too cold to hold. I also do not see any corrosion issue related to firearms that would be better served by Inconel 600 alloys as the barrel and receivers would be attacked long before the springs.
As such, I am going to guess someone in marketing had the idea.
