Why so serious? How about a little light-hearted discussion on an otherwise contentious day.
So far I'm 1 drink in. Espolon Reposado, neat. It's delicious and leaves me feeling less shitty than scotch or bourbon. I think I'll start and finish with tequila. Risky strategy, but it could pay off.
Next up? Hard kombucha. This is a recent revelation to me, but I love the stuff. Like beer without the drawbacks. I have a ginger-lemon kombucha that has the bitterness of a good IPA(at 6.5%) without being sweet. I'll have that with dinner (smoked pork chops, sweet potatoes, and broccoli).
I have both Japanese and Taiwanese scotch to choose from after dinner. Not sure which to go with. The Taiwanese stuff is Kavalan. I had a great bottle of it last time I was there, but the bottle I brought home was a 1L airport special that has never been all that satisfying. We'll see how things go.
