Well...one thing's for sure...fuckery abounds in the electoral system.

At this point, I am not sure who or what to believe anymore. As opposed to the current political mess that we are in, I suspect that we'd have better collective luck as a nation trying to find all of our missing left socks and I am trying to strike an optimistic tone here. 🙄

We will never know what we don't know because everything is predicated upon trusting that the folks with their hands on the levers are doing the job they are supposed to be doing (competently, let alone honestly), and that the oversight is both competent and honest as well.

Since this is well beyond the scope of what I can know, I'll leave it to the lawyers to wrangle with and hopefully the eventual loser will lose with a modicum of grace, though I imagine the current occupant of the W.H. will be pulled kicking and screaming from his abode (but forever, a la HRC, be able to complain that he was robbed and never concede defeat, legitimate or otherwise).

The whole thing sucks but I'm not gonna drink myself into a stupor over it...

One Michigan county clerk caught a glitch in tabulation software so they hand counted votes and found the glitch caused 6,000 votes to go to Biden + Democrats that were meant for Trump and Republicans. 47 MI counties used this software.

This is why Trump cannot give up.

I have always been a fan of Trump's actions, but never his lack of a filter with his words. His first debate this election cycle was a perfect example for my kids of why politeness is important - if he did legitimately lose, that debate may be the reason.

However, at this point in time, I doubt someone acting like a gentleman could do what needs to be done. Pointing out the likelihood of fraud, and the need to watch and investigate, is not something that can be done effectively with politeness.

Investigating the votes and verifying the paper ballots can catch and resolve glitches such as this.

In PA, I have noticed significantly fewer reports of "calibration errors" resulting in votes being counted the wrong way since we transitioned from machines with no paper trail to machines that scan paper votes.

The number of people who vehemently didn’t like Biden “but just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Trump” is a lot bigger than the number of people who vehemently didn’t like Trump but “just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Biden”, I think.

No clue here. We'll never know if the Libertarian vote sunk Trump. It's defiantly a wild card though and this election proves it. It looks like it was close to 1% of the vote and with the electoral college in a close election that's a game changer.

I'm sure this will be analyzed in the weeks to come.

My understanding is in GA a candidate must have at least 50% of the vote, or it goes to a run off.

The last link in that list (realclearpolitics) is a 404 error (not found).

Also, according to 538 some states have same-day registration which is why some totals can look like they exceed 100%.

I didn't check the rest because proof by verbosity is a thing.

Reflecting on this, I think the entire mail-in ballot thing has been a disaster.

Personally I would lobby against it for any future election until a more secure system is developed beyond the traditional in-person or absentee methods.
