Not for the 1301, but I just ordered the Holosun HS 510C Circle/Dot RDS and the Scalarworks RMR SYNC Mount for my Benelli M2. I think the 65 MOA Ring and Dot will be just the thing for a shotgun. I'll post more once I have a chance to test it out.

Just a heads up I trusted Brownells answers to people who asked about the HS 510C when Brownells told them that the sight also fit an RMR footprint. It does not have an RMR footprint as is common with many Holosun sights. I have a Trijicon RMR on order to go with the Scalarworks SYNC Mount. Just an FYI to everyone.

Agreed, The older 4MOA H-1 is the real sweet spot, I think. The dot is a very useful size for fast yet accurate acquisition, and you can find them relatively cheap in used but very good condition on various EE's.
I think I have four of them on different shotguns. Two 870's, a 1301 and a 590A1. Like all the Aimpoint products I own, I have never had any issues.
I liked the idea of being able to pick up a 4moa H-2 micro, used, but haven't found one yet--and when I do, I'm not sure it'll be at a price I'm willing to pay. Aside from the zombie apocalypse and very occasional training class or coyote hunting, the primary use will be the "hang on a tree in the campsite in case a bear gets frisky" shotgun during our summer (remote) camping. This is interesting, but I'm wondering if it's trying too hard to be all things to all people. Does anyone have any actual experience with one? And, in particular, is there any actual utility to the reticle regarding buckshot? Thanks!
At somepoint I'm thinking of putting a primary arms microdot I've got on my 1301 using a CROM. But it's on an AR at the moment, and for my uses a red dot isn't strictly needed.
Vortex Crossfire Gen 2. It was on my 590 for a year and now it sits on the 1301 mounted on a CROM. No complaints. The Gen 2 has a 50K hour battery life on setting 6.

I use Chinese cheap red dot sight for hunting.
vector optics is good for cost performance.
