    Safariland 5198-49-411

As a part of my personal SERPA eradication program, I ordered a Safariland 5198-49-411 from Optics Planet for my XDM10 4.5 It is not in stock with an estimated 7-9 week availability. Not a big deal since I won't need it until spring and I can always cancel it if I change my mind before then. Seems these will fit several similar sized pistols with a little adjustment. Are these good to go?

Are you looking for some sort of active retention? These don’t have that. The GLS line would be a better option if you want active retention.

No not for this holster. I ordered the ALS system for my G19 but the XDM10's role is a woods knocking pistol.

The 5198 is a great non-retention holster. It's very fast and I prefer it to bladetech for uspsa matches (though I haven't done one since pre-COVID). The passive retention is adjustable and good- if you adjust it for retention, it's not coming out unless someone is pulling it out of the holster. The main downside is that it has limited fits for pistols (at least according to safariland).

I have been frustrated with opticsplanet lately, so if it was me ordering another one right now, I would check copquest or another site that has an accurate in stock system and will answer email/phone calls.

I have three or four of these in various fits. They're a good holster for a new fun that you want to shoot before your holster comes. The design is remarkably simple and I'm surprised nobody else does something like it.

Thanks for the tip! I canceled the optics planet order and ordered one from Copquest. They did'nt indicate it was out of stock so I suppose I am good to go

Good to hear. It's tough to find anything off the shelf for a XDM10

I wouldn’t assume that. I’ve had nightmare dealings with Copquest. If you’re just looking for something decent to carry it in the woods, I’ve got this XD holster you can have. It’s a 567. Used it for my 92A1 back in the day. Been in my holster box for years.

It’s listed as fitting the XD 45 so I imagine it’ll fit the 10.

Cool! I'll take it! What do I owe you?

I just found out that the 5198-49-411 is on back order at Copquest AFTER I ordered it. I'll send you a PM.
