I admit, I don’t know any of the above mentioned drama, nor do I follow either one. I saw that it popped up in my recs and shared. If they are “chicken little” types, and this is more of that, I do apologize and please enlighten me.

So are we saying goodbye to any hopes of picking up an HK SP5 or B&T anything at a reasonable price? I was thinking of picking up a B&T APC9 Pro SD in a couple of years. There are a ton of cool, foreign guns that are no longer going to be importable if this goes through.

We need the “sporting purposes” clause repealed.

Ironically, I thought the same thing.

Let’s see what (ETA: changed from why to what - smart phones) actually comes of this as right now we have a lot of conjecture and a cease and desist letter to Q.

Now, something H&K specifically did that I think may have indicated their wariness of this kind of thing happening is 1.) everything they’ve imported is a pistol caliber and 2.) and the single complaint people have about the new SP5’s is they all have the pistol sights, not the traditional diopter rear.

Rifle calibers and rifle sights are two things that have been specifically mentioned. Perhaps (hopefully or even more hopefully this goes nowhere?) our German friends were ahead of the curve on this one.

We shall see what this yields.

    ETA 2:

They also as far as I know, don’t include braces from the factory on the SP5’s.

So I'm guessing no more CVA Scout V2 pistols.

So basically and PCC marketed as a pistol from say HK, CZ, Sig, Stribog, B&T unless manufactured in the US are going to skyrocket in price.

    Gots to love it.

That looks like something a modern day pirate might have under his belt....with a RDS of course.

I don't know about those others but I'm betting HK anything is going to be damn expensive soon enough, if you can find one.

Doubly painful as well, given that imports have been minimal to non-existent during Covid.

Looks like SP5s are still hovering around $4k buy now on gunbroker. The extra $1k over what they were selling for has been priced in since covid.

As to why do this now, are we assuming the unstated intent was to specifically target Dracos?

    Whole roll of tinfoil filter:

Timing looks like an effort to get billy bumpstock to at least not vote for T man.

    or

testing the waters for the Camel-a plan

    or

the FATD needs to eat a big bag of their own name and leave folks alone.

    or

they're so far into their own rulebook that they don't even have calendar visible and timing is just because.

As someone else said - though i haven't searched very hard - officialish aft comments haven't been seen.... just a random law firm so endeared to MAC that they called him first. HMMMM
