I think that’s the big thing to remember, our officers, military, etc. are supporting the constitution and honestly day to day building out the freedoms we enjoy. I get to sit in my house in the suburbs and working on technology and get fat (gained weight during the epidemic but still) - these guys are putting their lives on the line and I get to enjoy that because of their sacrifices.

God Bless our law enforcement and military, etc. and I’d say keep in mind their position. If anyone’s bought into fixing this system - it’s them.

I got into an argument with a coworker about this “we need to take our country back” I’m like “Totally, we need to vote, etc.” and he alluded to an uprising and I brought up what I’ve seen in my life about LE, and TBH a lot of them are the best our society has to offer. In virtue and in deed.

    Anyway, I’ll quit my ramblings.
My wife and I dropped off our ballots today, and thanked several sheriff’s deputies for their service. My only encounters with law enforcement, are those I initiate in order to express my gratitude. I mentioned some heinous scumbags in a previous post, and my fear is that law enforcement agencies and officers will bear the brunt of any attempts at gun confiscation. They are the frontline. Sheriffs across Virginia made me proud to be an American last year, as did sheriffs across the nation. These men and women are patriots, and politicians play fast and reckless with their well being. A forum member pointed out that politicians have hamstrung police officers when dealing with rioters. I have a friend who used to be an LAPD officer. He lives in Pennsylvania now, and talks about the battle being lost once criminals were no longer afraid of the police. That’s a profound commentary!

I’m not sure if you’re referring to the criminal violence of a SWAT team effecting an entry to unconstitutionally seize guns allowed by the second amendment, or the defensive violence used to deny it such seizure.

Since an unconstitutional law is illegal by my understanding.

As far as me personally I support our democratically elected politicians to do what’s right and if they say all I need is a double barrel shotgun for self defense, to fire a warning shot into the air, then by golly, that’s what I’ll do. Because a real patriot listens to their elected leaders.

You guys remember that dude William Aprill that would say things like never agree to go anywhere with an attacker because the secondary location is also known as the murder scene? And other trainers say things like never let yourself be tied up because once you’re tied up, you can’t fight back.

To simplify and make a universal rule, if you have a potential bad guy and they hold you at gunpoint and demand you do X whereby doing X will make it impossible to mount a future defense when they finally reveal what their end game is, then the prevailing wisdom is to immediately fight back, even if it means you die 99% of the time, because once you comply with X, there’s 100% chance you’re a goner.

What does that have to do with the government banning guns and demanding they be turned over? Absolutely nothing, I’m sure, but I miss William Aprill and his wisdom came to mind.

Back to the topic, be a good citizen, turn in your guns peacefully and thank the officers who seize them for their service to the constitution.

    @Sanch You’re too funny!

Justice Barrett has just been sworn in, and the self-proclaimed socialists are calling for court packing. Is anyone willing to watch that disaster take place? This afternoon, Sleepy Joe said he wants to rotate SCOTUS justices. I imagine that rotation would correspond with the case they’d like decided in their favor. Lost a 2A case, rotate some antigun justices onto the court, and file it again. The Left is deadly serious about their agenda, both in D.C., and in the streets. The Antifa we see today, is not the Antifa of last year. They are well funded, and well organized. While we sat back after Trump was elected, the Left grew in numbers that no one ever expected. In a more normal time, this evening’s confirmation would have been a real victory. Instead, the Left has grown more angry, and plans to reorganize our federal government to their liking. While I may sound hysterical, I’m rather calm. We need to be as determined as the people who would like to take away our liberty, erase our history, and form a new central government that our forefathers would not recognize.

Forewarned is forearmed. Take a look at this weeks TIME Magazine which is devoted to "The Great Reset." Kind of an amalgamation of the way of the Chinese Communist Party, UN Agenda 21 and 2030, and some tech folks that made theirs and know exactly how you should live.

    TIME: The Great Reset

ON TOPIC: I've never felt under-armed with a six-shooter and a pump gun. I hope that we've got a court who will rule properly on our 2nd Amendment rights, but I'm skeptical about the future due to who controls the education of our young.

    Rightly so.

My father, a retired education administrator has talked for years about the communists/socialists slowly taking over the education system, that (according to him) started in the sixties with all the counter-culture types, who decided to stay in the field of education.

For me, I will continue to teach my girls how to think, not what to think..

That, along with real world skill sets that may be applicable in the future, in various environments, is the best I can do I suppose.

Parents ultimately do. Of course many abdicate the responsibility, either intentionally or just due to the economic needs of both parents working long hours.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

You've got a point. In days past parents did. I think there's a conscious move towards denigrating and marginalizing parents, the father's role in particular. Add in the lack of communication skills or even the desire to educate your offspring in terms of discretion and critical thinking and there's a lot of adrift kids, who end up finding their place in group-think organizations.

Somewhere I have an article downloaded about the scant moments of real communication that takes place during daily parent and child interactions. It was posed in terms of the Russian slang term for "soul talk" and the lack thereof in modern parenting.
