Anyone who is talking on an open thread about how they'll disobey the law and maybe engage in revolutionary acts:

    A) Needs to have their head examined;
    B) Should pre-pay a hefty retainer to a criminal defense attorney;
    C) Might as well self-report themselves to the FBI; or
    D) All of the above.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

If we have collectively allowed it to become the law of the land, I would try to avoid prison/legal trouble whilst advocating strongly for it's reversal with the new government certain to be installed in the next election cycle.

The one thing the gun grabbers never understand, is that it's not the NRA with all the power in Washington.

    It never was.

The NRA was merely the most convenient mouthpiece for an enormous subset of the American people. Many people who exercise their second amendment protections have a passing interest in the constitution, and therefore try to avail themselves of it's many other wonderful protections.

    Of which, voting is one.

The Democrats should tread carefully around any gun legislation, because while very few of their armed constituents would advocate for, or participate in armed revolt, a huge percentage of them will participate in the election.

So I'll do the same as I've always done. Take newbies shooting (though by God this ammo shortage makes it tricky) and show them we're not all crazy threeper sheepdogs any more than they're all crazy commie rioter.

Avoid inflammatory political shit, have a good time and show them just how great it is to be free. Sure, you won't change everyones mind. Some people's minds cannot be changed. Whatever. But for some, when they taste freedom, even a few times, they'll pay more attention when someone wants to infringe upon it.

I’m not a revolutionary and I’m morally unwilling to kill others over political issues. Not to mention that being killed or imprisoned for the sake of keeping tools that are for protecting my family, and therefore being unable to raise and care for a family, is very counterintuitive; so I’d be complying. If that makes me a terrible American, I can assure you I’m not losing sleep over it.

I’m in the process of switching to 1911s for defensive pistols for unrelated reasons anyway. An AWB without a grandfathering provision just means trading the AR for an 870, Beretta, or Benelli, which I can absolutely live with. With grandfathering, the gauges get added in anyway, and maybe the AR stuff gets sold at an inflated price if that’s a legal option. Most likely some Marlin 1894s come into the picture as well.

All in all, I’ll be annoyed at worst, and at best too absorbed with new projects to care. Not to mention, I’ll probably be much more worked up about something else that’s happened.

It hasn’t worked in the People’s Republics of New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and other “restricted” states. These restrictions only work if you voluntary surrender your God-given rights as a man (first), and a citizen of the United States (close second).

Da Nang Dick Blumenthal today warmed of “consequences” if ACB is confirmed. I’m issuing my warning of consequences right here, right now. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I'm with you however, the police can't control the antifags and burn loot murder because they've been handcuffed by politicians. Change the rules of engagement or push out the liberal prosecutors and see what happens. Most of them will run for the hills when the gloves come off or bullets start to fly, see Kenosha as an example.

If there's another AWB they will expect non-compliance. If there's not a grandfather clause, they'll slowly recover guns over time. People have a tendency to do stupid shit that forces interaction with LE. People go through messy divorces and get red flagged. People die and the widow or kids may not want the headache. People have trouble keeping their mouth shut and get red flagged. Bottom line, there will be many opportunities for the government to get your guns.

Probably with the idea of voting in a more friendly government and overturning the law. The Clinton AWB had a sunset, a necessary inclusion to get enough votes to pass originally, and was allowed to sunset. To date, there's been no need to take up arms against the central government to affect policy change. Well, one big attempt that didn't go so well for the confederacy, but voting still works. The pendulum will swing again, I think, and mass non-compliance is part of getting that going. Legalization of marijuana was a huge political issue. Why? Massive non-compliance, widespread social acceptance even among those not smoking it themselves, and the widespread notion that the burdens on the criminal justice system for enforcement were not worth it. There was no armed revolution to make the changes happen, and it likely would not have been as effective as the simple method of voting for it.

There's a difference between an oppressive government and an opposition controlled government. Nobody is appointing Biden or Trump. They are not dictators, regardless of who wins. We, the people, are voting for them and despite the doom porn that pops up each election cycle we've yet to have a POTUS or congressman not comply with the results of an election.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

One can disobey a Federal law by hiding the guns. One can fret about door to door confiscation, which you will fight! However, you do not understand the subtle processes of such a ban.

    1. Sanctuary cities mean nothing. The state or Federal authorities will enforce the law if you are discovered.

    2. Competitions with the banned guns are over. I shot carbine for years with local LEO, state and Federal agents. That isn't going to happen. The match directors, range owners and competition organizers will not have matches with banned guns.

    3. The industries, direct manufactures, accessory makers, etc. are hit economically - unless they start making my tacticool Enfield. The gun population will be what exists now and that will decrease over time, esp. when we croak.

    4. You cannot hunt with the guns, esp. in areas where a taken animal is reported.

    5. If you use it in self-defense, you will have a negative point to present to the jury. There may be an additional felony for the gun position. Even if the SD is upheld, the gun charge remains. Ask Bernard Goetz on that one.

    6. You face the risk of discovery - the firemen, your kid blabs at school and Miss TooGoodBody calls the law, your Ex wants something from you or wants revenge, your buddy blabs or gets mad at you for something.

    7. The cultural war against the guns becomes more intense. You believe that they are good but new generations will grow up in context that they are evil.

    8. If you take action against the law who comes for your gun (when you are discovered) or take 'action' against them - law enforcement will turn on you with a vengeance. Kill their fellow officer over an AR - no sympathy for that.

    9. When you croak, you leave a legal liability for your heirs. Do I want my kid to deal with my death and digging up Daddy's arsenal. That will deter many folks.

So, that's what would happen. We ain't going to see the UN come down the street. So that's a fantasy that folks put forward to argue against the law. We will just see the gun lose utility or the culture turn away from them.

There are other banned products that survived. Alcohol - didn't see a revolution over prohibition. It was overturned. Marijuana - states have declared its usage but there are risks for usage and Jeff Sessions did want use the Federal forces with a vengeance (Hey, Jeff - how did OrangeMan work out for you?). However, there was cultural support for getting rid of prohibition and most of the country wants to legalize pot.

Can you come up with a message that culturally will work for these guns? Wayne's STOPPING THE SOCIALIST WAVE headlines didn't go far. The call for conservative orthodoxy to be a gun guy (which some of you love) isn't working.

I act, based upon the presumption that everything I type, here, or any other internet forum, is archived, along with my REAL name, in a searchable database, controlled by some government entity. So, basically, I am going to remain silent, regarding your questions, and, I will vote.

To say/type that would do anything, other than comply with the law, is just not going to happen.

Edited to add: I actually don’t have all that many 30-round AR15/M4 mags. I can count them on one hand. I have four or five 20-round P-mags. I have mostly 10-round metal Colt mags, and ten-round PMAGS. I find ten-rounders convenient, nicely compact, and less likely to snag in the local big thickets. I am not kidding. So, I am not going to pick AR/M4 mags as my hill to die on, anyway.

After living through the AWB of 1994 and its sunset, my actions would be the same as then. 1) Assess what the law requires, 2) Check what I have, 3) Determine what I need, and 4) Get what I can, and 5) See what happens. The AWB of 1994 grandfathered items, and plants ran flat out to make sure there were a large amount of the soon-to-be-banned items. As such, it was more of a financial hit than a real hardship. There were some dumb feature bans that manufacturers got around quite easily.

In the event of a "high-capacity magazine" confiscation, I would comply with the law so as to have standing to sue based on some recent cases dealing with magazine capacity limits. I also have fully vetted carry systems that would comply with a ten-round and eight-round magazine limit. I also have fully vetted five-round revolver carry systems although I am not current on them.

I will cram everything into the biggest flat-rate box I can find and send it to the ATF for safe disposal* since I cannot be trusted as an otherwise law-abiding peon. Noted for public record should anyone connect Darth_Uno to my real name. But seriously. I will send both of my 30 round mags in.
