    Finally!

After 8 long months, my beloved 24-3 is on its way home from David Fink’s shop.

I haven’t shot it in years due to excessive end-shake and b-c gap.

I also had him dovetail in a 1/10” gold bead FS.

Also cost a helluva lot more than I would have thought[emoji15]

Caveat: they did a lot more than I thought. Apparently I asked for his “accuracy and reliability package” (its been so long I can’t remember what we discussed), and they reblued everything following the metal work.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
If I were to have an N frame, that would be very high on my list. Gorgeous!

That's one for the collectors to get all lathered up over. Was it refinished or not? Who the hell cares. Not me. Hope you have plans on shooting it. Very nice.

I used to collect British game guns. In that realm those were serviced every year by those that could afford a proper game gun like a Purdey. A refinish, as they called it, was proper maintenance and never detracted from value. Never understood the preoccupation with not properly maintaining a firearm here in the US.

    Oh it’s a shooter alright.

I have a second, unfired 24-3 resting boxed in the safe some future collector can have.

The only reason I’m keeping is because it was a retirement gift to my dad from his co-workers (yeah, that was a while back) and one of my daughters might want it. Otherwise it would have been sold or had the shit shot out of it.
