I think it’s pretty safe to assume there is a lot of trickery being done to generate news media and support narratives.
Interestingly, (and to no one's surprise), it's only the alleged (so-called) Proud Boys threats that I saw mention of this morning while perusing the news online.

At least the news story was honest enough to say that this appears to be spoofing attempt. Does anyone seriously believe that such a threat would come from an email address that correctly identifies the sender?

In TX, voter registrations are published. I can download spreadsheets to see how all my neighbors are registered. And it works both ways.
