Texas prepares to send 1,000 troops to five major cities

There's no Texas shenanigans thread so I'm posting this here.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-election.html
The Texas Guard said troops would be sent to Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio

Maj. Gen. James K. Brown of the Guard, said the move would offer support to local law enforcement 'as we did previously to deter any civil disturbance at sites in various cities within Texas'

In the nation's capital businesses close to the White House began to board up their windows Monday

Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills will also board up ahead of November 3 in anticipation of violence there

In Washington state up to 300 National Guard soldiers are undergoing training to to handle civil unrest

NYC has similar plans in place, as the NYPD is training every day and deploying hundreds of extra cops

FBI and local officials in several states have also been conducting drills and running through worse-case scenarios to improve coordination on reports of violence and voter intimidation ahead of the election

The latest Trafalgar poll shows Trump and Biden tied at 48% each in Pennsylvania. That was before the rioting in Philadelphia last night in response to a clearly justified police shooting. I think Biden just lost Pennsylvania.

While I am hoping for a Trump win, as much as I think he is a terrible President, because a Biden/Harris win honestly scares me, I am somewhat looking forward to the corporate/Hollywood gymnastics after the fact.

It is very easy to "talk the talk" when it comes to "Socialism" and significantly more difficult to "walk the walk".

Of course, I am sure the well connected and powerful will find a way to shield themselves from the affects of a true significant Progressive turn in taxes/corporate governance/etc, it will be interesting to see how they do it and what excuses they come up with.

It is one thing to support higher corporate taxes, it is another paying them.

It is one thing to support "diversity" in corporate boardrooms, it is another to hire someone unqualified to do a job just because of who they are.

It is one thing to support Medicare for All, it is another thing to give up YOUR healthcare and go on a "government benefit".

It is one thing to support a wealth tax, it is another to suddenly be required to calculate and pay them yourself.

I am also looking forward to the dismay on my Socialist friends once they get a real taste of it. Kind of like they did when my company went from a seniority based yearly bonus system to a same for everyone system. Those Socialists, several of whom had many years in the company and expected big checks at the end of the year suddenly started getting the same bonus as some guy that had only been here a year were LIVID. I reminded them that from each their ability to each their need....

(Actually two of them are voting Trump this year and one not voting at all because they DO NOT want Biden/Harris in office)

The thing that our citizens need to know is all this preparation is to counteract the progressive left. Why can't most citizens realize what the progressive left stands for?
With liberty and justice for all...must be 18, void where prohibited, some restrictions may apply, not available in all states.

I don't know if it's willful ignorance, simply ignorance, a misguided desire to be a part of a "movement", (however misguided), sheer stupidity, or worse, not caring enough to find out.

I don't see this little drama ending well.
There's nothing civil about this war.

In 2016 I didn’t think Trump winning the election was even a long shot, but I did say to friends I thought he would win Pennsylvania. Said friends thought I’d lost my mind. It was nothing I could put my finger on, just the various radio waves pinging my little brain.

Same thing this time as far as Pennsylvania, even before the recent peaceful protests in Philadelphia.

One of the radio waves this time - my father’s first cousin, in her early 80s, is a retired Jewish doctor in the Philadelphia suburbs. She and her husband have spent pretty much every other Saturday for 50 years at the Metropolitan Opera. Clinton/Obama voter and other than my own love of opera, to her I was a knuckle dragging Neanderthal. Her husband, also a retired doctor in his 80s, is a squish RINO. The perfect Trump hating, Biden voting profile.

She is now full MAGA and thinks I’M the squish. He too just sent in his ballot for Trump.

Those suburbs are exactly the reason I think these riots will push Trump over the top. I spent 2 1/2 years living in those suburbs and working in Center City. The SEPTA trains are absolutely packed with people making that commute every day, and the roads are packed with cars making that commute. Those suburbs are supposedly where Trump was losing ground. Having those riots take place within walking distance (or perhaps a short bus or light rail ride) of where they work - now for the 2nd night - will hopefully cause many of these suburbanites to rethink any plans to vote for Burisma Biden.

It's not getting much media attention, but there have been huge Trump car rallies across the country.

    Washington Examiner: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/o...s-you-dont-see

In Southern California last weekend: https://newsla.localad.com/2020/10/2...s-beach-towns/

In my somewhat remote area, there was a big one last weekend and another planned this weekend. The Trump enthusiasm is off the charts.

I was cautiously optimistic about Trump winning PA in 2016. The signs showing support in my area was overwhelming. It’s actually a little less so this time around.

I'm not much for predictions, but what I would like to see is a massive landslide of Trump support, the like of which have never been seen before.

It's almost like the Dems are campaigning for Trump with all the violence and mayhem.

I didn't post yard signs on my property. I don't participate in surveys and polls. I am participating in one poll. And that's the general election where I have already voted for Donald Trump. I think there are a lot of people just like me. I voted for Trump the last time because he wasn't Hillery. I'm voting for him this time because I believe he is the best president we've had in my lifetime. He's not a politician.
