I cannot understand the Democrat's continued romanticism with Socialism given the fact that Socialism has never resulted in the success of anyone except for those who avail themselves of its ability to deny those whom it purports to serve of their freedom and prosperity.
There has been a tension going back thousands of years in consenual, governance between those desiring equality of outcome, and those desiring equality of opportunity. The prescence of failure or success in those societies can be tracked in the historical record and correlated against that tension, partly explaining why "Year Zero" sorts of programs find favor with certain sorts of political parties.

Consider which candidate the big tech corporations and big media considerations are backing.

Most Democrats point to the Scandinavian countries as successful examples of socialism. After all, it’s perfectly logical to base your system of governance for a heterogeneous population of 325 million people that is responsible for defending the free world on homogenous populations of 10-20 million that haven’t successfully won a war since the Middle Ages.

I loved it when in 2010, there were all these pundits saying that Iceland had come out of the mess well, and the whole world should have done what they did. A country with a total population about 3/4 that of the City of Long Beach, CA.

    From the quoted article:
There is just one problem: Sweden is not socialist.
With liberty and justice for all...must be 18, void where prohibited, some restrictions may apply, not available in all states.
