Given that half his party is the swamp, and that the democrats are almost completely defined by the swamp, this is not a shock. Non-swamp democrat figures get run out of town on a rail. Tulsi Gabbard, for instance. Look at what they did to her. Bernie has been hammered twice. Even though he's a fuzzy headed socialist dipshit, he's at least not quite as crooked as Clinton Inc. or Biden Inc. or Obama Inc. So he's robbed twice by DNC machinations.

Then there is the bureaucracy that's penning deep state resistance op eds in the NYT.

DC is a system. It didn't develop overnight and it won't die overnight, either. But if you want to kill it you have to at least start making it bleed...and some of Trump's economic policies are doing precisely that. Thankfully. There's a reason why the Chamber of Commerce endorsed Biden and billionaires are lining up to give to his campaign.

I wish the Center (yeah, I'm going to start calling the other 90% of us "the Center", no party affiliation, just Americans.), would just come together and put an end to our current two party political fiasco
That's happening. This isn't really a left vs. right argument anymore, it's an argument between the elites and everybody else. Which is why there are so many well funded people finding new and interesting theories on how not supporting them is white supremacy and similar rot. Anything to distract from a core realignment of the body politic to deal with the realization that we've been getting sold out since the end of WWII.

It's funny if you go back and read the coverage of Reagan in the press vs. Trump now. It's very, very similar. Reagan's election would be the rebirth of the KKK in America according to Washington Post columnists at the time. It would produce nuclear holocaust. It would destroy the economy. Etc. Yet the opposite of all those things actually took place.

Republican and Democrat aren't really the "sides" anymore.

There are Republicans who are on the side of the non-elites. Then there are Republicans who are elitist shitbags. The fact that someone has an R in front of their name means jack shit, as we can see from the various Never Trumper "conservatives" who only have currency on the elitist side of the question while 95% of the people who voted for Trump are happy with what he's doing...even if not always happy with the way he's doing it.

I don't see the elitists putting the genie back in the bottle again. Some things are fundamentally changing and wedge issues are less wedge-y than before because people of all stripes and persuasions are starting to figure out that the real enemy isn't that group of people over there, it's the bastards running the show that are the real enemy.

Look at Richmond early this year. A bunch of people from all areas of the supposed political spectrum were armed to the teeth and gathered in the tens of thousands...where they fellowshipped and enjoyed one another's company. All the while looking at the locked down state house where most of the politicians had fled and realizing that maybe the enemy isn't the guy standing in front of them. Maybe the real enemy is the gutless cowards who wouldn't face their own constituents after trying to seize their rights by force.

And all the while these shitweasels are being guarded by police...the very same police they've called racist oppressors. So maybe figuring out who the real enemy is is becoming easier and easier all the time.

It actually makes a lot of sense to fire someone who is not accomplishing the intended mission.
I'm sure that some of those people needed to be fired. What about all of those that walked off the job? I guess they just didn't like the mission.

Even Reagan had the bad judgement to put H.W. Bush in as Veep.
I don't think anyone is going to blame Pence if Trump is a one term president.

That depends on why they walked off the job.

Some of them walked off the job to more lucrative opportunities. More of that whole revolving door thing.

Some of them probably had a very different idea of what was going to happen. After all, business as usual is how DC normally operates. Hell, Joe Biden is running on that and all the awful shit it entails.

Some of them probably left when some of the people who got fired left, because that was their guy.

Doubtless some of them were encouraged to leave by various actors inside agencies, outside agencies, etc.

I'm sure a non-trivial number of them decided to leave because they didn't want to get mobbed in public by nutcases being encouraged by a bunch of sleazoid politicians looking to break every norm in the pursuit of power:

A book deal does seem to be the go-to when one's transition through the revolving door is interrupted because their incompetence or malfeasance becomes so blatantly obvious that even the swamp can't save them.

See, James Comey, John Bolton, etc.

I'm not implying anything. I clearly stated their loyalty is first and foremost to the Constitution of the United State of America, which they swore an oath to support and defend. Merely being an employee of the executive branch does not mean someone can ignore everything but Article II of the Constitution.

The email is unrelated to the laptop or hard drive purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden, the former vice president's son.

The list, included Harris, D-Calif.; Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.; New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo; New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio; former Virginia Gov. Terry McCauliffe, among others.

It is unclear if any of the Democrats were ever contacted about the “target projects.”

The email was sent from Jim to Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, Rob Walker and James Gilliar.
Here is a link to the email itself. Some surprises, others, not so much.....

If you haven't watched Bobulinski's presser from yesterday, you should.

NY Post story: Hunter’s ex-partner Tony Bobulinski: Joe Biden’s a liar and here’s the proof

“That night, we discussed the Bidens’ history, the Biden family’s plans with the Chinese, with which he was plainly familiar, at least at a high level,” he said in Memphis, Tenn., ahead of the final debate between President Trump and Biden.

“I have no wish to bury anyone. I’ve never been political. The few contributions I have made have been to Democrats. But what I am is a patriot, and a veteran, to protect my family name, and my business reputation. I need to ensure that the true facts are out there,” he said, batting away accusations that he was part of a misinformation plot.

Paywall, but the WSJ went through the Bobulinski emails:

    Article here.

I don't think it will make anyone happy.
