So based on the currently publicly available information, it appears the UOF decision was somewhere between Bad and borderline. Investigation and /or trial will need to sort it out.
A big question is did the news crew record what lead up to the shooting? IME professional TV camera men always have the camera running just in case. If so, the police either have that footage or are getting a subpoena to compel the station to give it up.
Shooter was a contract security guard but personally leaned left. Along those lines, did the shooter engage the deceased in the course of his duties because the deceased was threatening the new crew ? Of was the shooter so unprofessional he let his personal biases suck him into a politically driven confrontation ?
Correct.
Googling “Space Invader tattoo” results in a hundred images of actual tattoos on gamer/nerd/geeks
Googling “Space invader tattoo Antifa” results in no actual tattoos.
No one should think “Space Invader tattoo = Antifa” but we’ve jumped to that conclusion. The illogical conclusion made online, and repeated here, seems to be from the fact that an Austrian Antifa group uses the space invader symbol.
Shooter might be a card carrying anarchist hell bent on overthrowing the USG, but the tattoo isn’t proof of anything yet. (As I said before, I’m curious what the text below the invader says.)
When you’re armed and a person violently attacks you then sprays you with mace/OC/CS it’s perfectly reasonable to believe he wants to disarm or further injure/kill you. I know when I went through the academy we were taught to use deadly force on a subject who sprays or threatens to spray us. Same for tasers.
We are all missing key parts of what led up to the confrontation escalating, but even if the shooter was the national head of antifa, I wouldn’t be able to determine he’s guilty of anything. And remember he’s in a left leaning jurisdiction where getting charged for a lawful use of force shouldn’t surprise anyone.
