Desantis Mini Slide OWB holster and CC for Glock....seems impossible

Their holsters are marketed as CC holsters.

    I have this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am carrying OWB because I have a medium frame but most of my weight is around my belly. I usually open carry with it and other holsters but I decided to try it out for CC.
It looks like a huge "box" when trying to CC with it and my G23 even when positioned at 430p.
I usually wear a large T-shirt. Would like a 3xl t-shirt help? I have lots of OC holsters for use as LE and the CC stuff is used to me. Seems like a hassle. I don't want to always open carry but getting discouraged. I don't think I want to spend for special shirts as I am always working on mechanical stuff and I am usually pretty dirty.

    Thanks for any pointers.

Have you tried IWB (Inside Waist Band)?

The Milt Sparks SSII should work fine with a loose / one size larger than normal, and is kind of the gold standard.
In stock at Brownells and Sparks' webstore.

Thanks for the lead. I haven't. I am heavy around the center and normal otherwise though. Not sure if that will work. I'd have to save up for that holster but it looks so nice. Just trying to work with what I have. I have so many different holsters that I ended up getting when I didn't know what I was doing.

Everyone is built differently. Holsters are like shoes - different fits work for different people.

One big question is what belt are you using. A good holster on a soft or ill fitting belt will not keep the holstered gun stable or close to the body.

You do need to dress around the gun to a certain extent. If you normally wear a L t shirt go up one size. best OWB concealment will be between 3 and 4 o'clock IME.

Along those lines, service size gun is not going to disappear. A strongside inside the waistband (IWB) holster is going to conceal better than an OWB. A proper Appendix IWB will conceal even better but it may not work with your build. With either IWB or AIWB you will need to go up one size on your belt or pants to accommodate the holstered gun.

Finding the right holster for you it is normal to wind up with a Box o'holsters.

Leather, particularly Milt Sparks Leather is nice, but pricey.

Good Kydex can also be effective:

    Hi,

I wear this belt here. I use it with my tactical belt and it holds super nice.

I just ordered an XL and XXL tee shirt just to try it out in case since they are on sale. I keep forgetting that this is a service size gun although not full size...still a service size gun.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

@kain - Dickies makes square-bottomed work shirts designed to be worn untucked. They're reasonably priced and pretty tough and work well as a concealment garment. As a bonus, they help keep loose crud off of your gun when working where you get dirty.

ETA: I've got the same holster for my main carry gun, a Beretta PX4. It's about the same size as your Glock but with a longer grip. It conceals well under a work shirt. It wouldn't work under a tee shirt without sizing up. This is one of those "ain't no such thing as a free lunch" things.

Yep. +1 on JM CK. I’ve gone through a bunch of options, as someone who is not tall and not skinny. I have two JM CK IWB 3 holsters, for my G19 and G48, both with 1.5" Pull-the-Dot, 15 Degrees cant, full guard and wide pattern.

I use a Mastermind Specialist belt and generally wear untucked, either a polo or T Shirt, XL.

    +1.

I must have been tired last night....I forgot that JM has Glock holsters on Quick Ship. His #3 IWB is a solid product.

Saying what you already know, I will point out that the thickness of the Glock 23 adds to the difficulty of concealing it as opposed to slimmer pistols. Also, you may discover that wearing an unbuttoned and not tucked in traditional shirt works well to conceal a larger pistol. Consulthttp://www.lapolicegear.com
