Teddy Roosevelt had a suppressed Winchester 1894.

Lever Guns may be obsolescent, but they use medium powered cartridges with higher magazine capacity and rate of fire than their contemporaries. They were "tactical' before that was a thing.

For the 16” 336 in .30-30, look at the 336Y. It’s the youth model. I have one and like it quite a bit.

I am very excited about this. I love Rugers and I love Marlins!

I am very hopeful that they will come out with some nice leverguns. I would love a Marauder/LTS 336 and an 1894 CP. I have both the LTS and the CP, but have kept them in the safe lately. I will say that the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 is sort of the modern version of the hardware store levergun of days past.

    Anyways I think this is a win/win!

Lever action .44 Mag with a 77/44 magazine format (extended mags, easy mag changes) for the win!

    Yup. 7.62x39 is basically .30-30 with a a point.

Certainly you’re not saying 30-30 is pointless?

I realized the ambiguity in how that reads after I typed it, but left it in as a low-key troll. I've written about .30-30 elsewhere on the site. I'm definitely in favor of it in certain applications.

I considered it an awesome set up and couldn’t resist. And I knew what you were meaning, ballistically they have similar performance. No offense intended.

One interesting conclusion on the effect of barrel length on velocity:
“So if you shoot something with your .357 Henry that’s 100 yards away, it’s basically like shooting it point blank with a 4-inch revolver.”

    ———
“ Here’s one more chart for you. This is showing the energy at the muzzle for each load. The reds represent the rifle muzzle energy and the greys are for the revolver.”
