Luger gurus, I need a basic crash course please

A Luger has been on my want list for a long time but the funds/condition/availability matrix never matched up. Until now. I’ve found a shooter grade commercial production in .30 Luger that I might be able to go see this weekend.

I realize original replacement parts are either spendy or unobtainium. What do I need to look at/look for/check out to avoid getting a pig in a poke? Who is the go to for reproduction parts if needed? What about springs? Wolff?

It appears 9mm and .30 Luger mags are basically the same other than spring rate. I presume Mec-Gar is preferred over Triple K?

Besides the usual things to check when buying a used pistol, what else should I know?

You might check out www.simpsonltd.com and give them a call. They're a great resource on Lugers.
