Now my concern, again, is whether the RKBA cases get lost in the other issues. Will they be acted on with alacrity?
That model looks like nonsense. How do they know who was the swing vote? The justices' deliberations are secret. It also shows democrat appointees trending conservative when casting a so-called swing vote.

Trump has nominated Amy Coney Barrett for SCOTUS.

    Probably a good choice.

Read that Obama and other Democrats, like Leahy, approached RBG to retire when they had the Senate. She refused as she had nothing else to do and was enamored with the whole Notorious RBG media blather.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Commentators have noted in a resurgence of anti-Catholic rhetoric which annoys even liberally oriented Catholics. Also, Justice to be Barrett is from a new Conservative Feminism, which acknowledges that standard anti-feminist views of the past would have denied her the chance for this position but it is still acceptable to have family values.

Of course, as I said, the big kerfuffle is abortion and the cheers for the RKBA being pushed to fore , are yet to be heard.

    Indeed. Proverbs 16:18.

I was literally just thinking that RBG could have resigned, leaving the pick up to Obama's last term. But no. Funny how that works out.

Cloture or on the nominee? Some votes on the latter are definitely possible.

I have to say, I’m pretty happy with this nomination, and absolutely thrilled that another constitutionalist judge may be appointed.

I’ll eat crow if Roe v Wade is overturned, but I just don’t see that happening.
