Did Smith & Wesson make a 340 PD variant chambered for 38 Special?

I understand that you can shoot 38's in the 340 PD, but looking for a model that only fires 38's.
Thank you!

Here’s mine:
Not a Centennial model, but the 360J model is .38 only. 360Js were cheap a couple of years ago; I got one for around $350 then and put $63 Ti cylinder from Numrich on it. I realize that's more of a brag than helpful advice.

I read years ago that S&W made a limited run of 342 M&Ps for LAPD. No proof though except the memory reading that somewhere and wishing I could get one myself.
Here you go:
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.
Due to '80s and '90s gun writers and there ability to get paid for spreading false information.....everybody thinks they need the great one-stop stopper 357 mag.
The manufacturers simply make what people want.
A 38 special j frame could be made smaller and lighter.
I have an original 342 and it is lighter than my 340.
I use J frames primarily for pocket carry and would love to see the 342 still available. I shoot the one I have very little as it's the best j frame Smith & Wesson ever made.
