    Lemans 2020

Take a break next weekend at the Circuit de la Sarthe for the 2020 running of Lemans 19-20 September 2020. Race Information here:

    https://www.lemans.org/en/24-hours-of-le-mans

    and here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans

    Official Teaser:

EDIT: Forgot to add TV coverage options. In the USA, it appears Motortrend Channel will offer live streaming of practice and the race on Saturday/Sunday:

There is also "facebook" coverage, with an official page:

    https://www.facebook.com/24heuresdumans

YouTube has a channel, but I am unsure quite how that will work on a "live" basis. There may be some delay expected.

The race starts at 14:30 local time in France, 09:30AM on the East Coast. Besides the insanely fast Le Mans Prototype cars (LMP1 and LMP2 class) I'll be watching LM GTE Pro, to see if the Porsche Factory Team can wrest a victory back from team AF Corsa, whose Ferrari 488 won a well-earned victory last year. The GTE class is dominated by Porsche and Ferrari; out of the 30 entries, four are Aston Martins, the rest are either 911 RSRs or 488 GTE Evos. My pick is the Porsche Factory #92 Christensen/Estre/Vanthoor team.

...and of course a documentary about my team

In 2019, the world of motorsports saw something it had rarely seen before; the two toughest endurance events in motor racing took place back-to-back: the 24h of Le Mans and the 24h of the Nürburgring. ENDURANCE is the story of the Porsche GT Team that took on this double challenge.

Thanks! I was sure it had been cancelled this year so I didn’t even think to look for a reschedule.

And this weekend is the Tuscan F1 race, in a season bandaided together in the midst of the pandemic. Two hours, +/-, compared to Le Mans' 24 hours.

I don't have Motortrend TV, so I re-downloaded my copy of the official "Lemans 24" app to have a way of keeping up with the race as it unfolds.

I love endurance racing. I started racing motorcycles (750 cc) in the CMRA endurance races and loved it.

Too bad that FIA and IMSA have not been able to merge the Prototype rules yet. My son works for Penske and works with the IMSA team along with his primary role at Indycar. Roger Penske wants to go back to Le Mans with a major manufacturer and that's when the signed a deal with Acura for the IMSA series. I think they were hoping the rules would have merged by now and they would have a car dialed in.

    Four days to go.

Taking a look back at last year's finish with the last hour of the race.

The overall winner was the #8 Toyota Gazoo LMP1, with Alonso, Buemi and Nakajima, their second successive win. In Porsche's 70th anniversary, the #51 488 GTE Evo of team AF Corse squeaked out a 49 second lead to finish at the top of GTE Pro, ahead of the two Porsche works cars.

FYI- it appears that YouTubeTV will cover the race in 3 segments. Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning.
We just dropped Dish and signed up. I’m pretty sure they have a free 2 week trial period, just say’n.
