I've got a Tara and HRKB that I use or everything from day hikes, to overnight trips, to shooting and hunting. I've found that it is pretty versatile, and if you get creative, you can stuff (and strap on) a lot more than you'd think. Coincidentally, I've found that the grimlocks supplied for docking the kit bag to shoulder straps are spaced in such a way that you can route the compression straps through them to create a compression panel of sorts on the back of the Tara.

That said, there are often times where I think, "Damn, I wish this thing was 50% bigger." Fortunately, HPG has an assortment of mid-size packs to address those needs... I just need to decide on one.

If you're on Facebook the "Hill People Gear Owner's Group" is a great resource. The owners and management of HPG frequently answer user questions and the fan base is pretty knowledgeable without being rabid.
