A fixed 2.5x with a simple mil dot reticle would be pretty useful.

I'm curious what type of targets you would be shooting and at what distances.

The run'n'gun events I do typically include at least 1 LR stage at 500 or 600 yards. Target is usually a full size silhouette or ~18x28 rectangle.

Some events only go out to 300 and adhere to a ~4MOA target size, but MDs can always throw a curve ball.

BDCs are nice, but Mils are close enough with 5.56 and at least consistent between reticles.

ETA: this isn't any different in concept to an Acog. Just cheaper and lighter with and adjustable diopter.

Looking at how small/closely-spaced the MRAD scale is on a 4x reticle, I can only imagine it might be too small to be practical with a 2.5x. I'm more inclined to go with a lockable elevation turret like what Leupold uses and perhaps some basic BDC marks on the reticle itself.
