    Worst cuisines?

So this quote in another thread reference Polish food:

At least they use spices in Hungary..

Got me to thinking, what's the worst varieties of cuisines for you?

Other then a classic fish and chips, I've not found much British that has struck me as interesting.
Much of the Gulf Arabic food was very bland. Get closer to the Med and the food definitely perks up.

I don't like some of the spices that are very common in Indian food, so while it's not that it's bad a lot of it isn't for me.
Sorta around sometimes for some of your shitty mod needs.

+1 for british. And I find hibachi cooking, in general, to be remarkably hit or hard miss. Some japanese restaurants just really suck.

    Eastern European (Ashkenazi) food.

Gefilte fish comes to mind...defenders of the faith notwithstanding. On the whole, give me Sephardic (Mediterranean) cuisine. I guess with all the wandering, cooking classes were an afterthought.

That said, there is good stuff, mostly base around potatoes or noodles.

Foods based on subsistence starches are bland generally. American 1950’s Leave it to Beaver food was boring! I had friends who would always order the most cliched and boring dish whenever we went out.

I’m not a big fan of food from the Philippines.

Generally, I find the old ethnic Mennonite dishes not to my taste, which is a shame because I get the opportunity to make and serve them at least once or twice a year. Verenika, Liverwurst, and Fried Mush just don't trip my trigger, although tomato gravy and fried mush is growing on me.

For me, Chinese. Not the food we get in the USA, but the food the Chinese eat in Shanghai, known as "Hu". A lot of it is served cold, which does not help awaken flavors. And the pork is very fatty. Cold and fat pork is not a good combination for me, bacon withstanding.

English food is by far the worst travesty visited upon man.

Where does haggis rate in the spectrum? Are the Scots getting a pass?

I just wish carbs didn't make me so fat.
