Their tactics are intended to instigate an overuse of force incident by police, not actually breach the fence. Don’t underestimate what’s going on here. They have the intelligence and technology/ creativity to have vbied’ed that shit if they wanted to, but that wouldn’t be as easy for the media to spin.

I predict within 1 year we will see widespread use of the IED in US cities. I also expect foreign actors to participate on various levels.

I grew up in East Cleveland and graduated from high school in 1977. I remember it.

Different reasons is why this is different.

Also, those folks affected, at least the Cleveland ones, were generally in career fields where they may have expected it.

eta: I think there’s probably already foreign involvement, but I can’t prove it and wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t playing both sides. (I would be if my job was their job)

I also think that drone based ied’s and other weaponized drones are going to be a very real threat since they doesn’t have to be implaced and can be deployed from a distance.
