I gave up on journalistic integrity years ago with CNN.
Once they started running an op ed piece as a headline on the website. "my opinion " being typed in super small font and usually buried inside a picture.
This is a perspective commonly held by the public regarding police UoF incidents. [Not aimed at you Roy, or anyone in particular here in this rather well informed group]
Of course, once we cause people to internalize this perception and put themselves in the position of being on the receiving end of a firearm being aimed at them. Suddenly, an epiphany occurs and they realize that waiting until they're being shot at before acting (correctly) preemptively means that they are also likely to have copper-jacketed hunks of lead passing through their anatomy at several hundreds of feet per second as they do so resulting in a "tie".
