Yeah I need to either drop off my gun and have them do it or actually find some time to go shoot :|

Might just drop off the gun and go shoot my pistols haha.

Congrats on the new setup, LR!

308 isn't dead but it has lost the edge to the newer stuff for sure.

Modifying the bolt stop is brick simple. It takes very little time and then you can really take advantage of the action. For a 6mm/AI it really makes sense.
I looked at a Tikka LA mag. It's actually reasonably easy to press the sides apart and pop the floor plate out. The way the spring is set up on the floor plate and follower, it just about looks like they planned for you to trim the back of the follower and add a spacer of your desired thickness. So once you figure out the max COAL you want to run, you can spacer the mag to a "medium action" and set the bolt stop length so it's no shorter than it needs to be (maybe pick up a spare before you start...). Elegant. For now, I'm pretty happy to realize I can do like you did and play with whatever bullets and COAL I want in the .260 Rem.

Ironic that something so simple and elegant is possible with the factory furniture, but not with an AICS-compatible chassis.

    CDO is such a PITA.

This thread has sent me down a ridiculous rabbit hole, where I'm reading about rechambering 7-08 Tikkas to .284 Winchester. The 168-grain LRABs loaded long in a Tikka LA mag look like Goldilocks invented the whole thing.

The 6mm Rem AI would be awesome, as noted.

There's a 6.5-257 AI, also called the .260 AAR "all around rifle" in the middle.

All are perfectly suited to elegantly exploit this LA magazine hack.

My inner rifle loony is in heaven. The rest of me wants to give that nerd a swirly and then stuff him into a locker by his elastic.

I need to go put some rounds downrange with a rifle I actually own.

Good idea but you aren't the only one with problems. Local guy had a brand new PVA 22" Tikka barrel in 6BR for less than half the cost of new, and included the barrel nut, and suppressor ready. I guess someone traded it for cerakote work. As I already have dies, brass, and bullets for it, I picked it up. I have a Tikka in 223 but I don't want to tear it down so I am looking for a donor rifle.
