The biggest press out controversy in history

    Should it be:

    1. press out
    2. press-out
    3. pressout

I've used all three over the years.

I went to look at Gun Nuts to see if I had any kind of internal consistency. I don't. I've used all three as well.

    This is your fault.

    Goes without saying.

    But did you vote?

Should be choice 1, as the hyphen makes 2 awkward and 3 sounds French, and will likely be "auto" corrected on many devices.

    Voted press-out.
Why? Because it's describing one action and although pressout is as well, it just looks silly with the squiggly red line under it when spell check gets a hold of it. Don't know if there's actually any grammatical rule regarding how it should be spelled... I'll ask the wife, she all into that kinda stuff. (kinda her job)

I'm most comfortable with 1. Teddy, and therefore Cooper, would have objected to the hyphen.

And, obviously, it should be PRESS OUT. Or PRESSOUT!

    Press-out, b/c push-up and press-up use a hyphen too.

    Plus, Wikipedia is never wrong.

I also prefer press-out, I'm sure for some kind of deep-seated psychological characteristic that I can't articulate. I seem to like hyphenating things.
