My heart goes out to that officer. You can tell he's a decent guy and it really weighed on him to put the man down.
There's nothing civil about this war.

He is lucky he was quick and did not fall. He had a very close call.

Attempting to tase the suspect without lethal cover almost cost him his life.

It seemed like both officers knew the suspect by name from prior encounters.

That’s actually not surprising. Pretty typical of handgun performance on a determined attacker. Hence Tom Givens comments about various capacity handguns guns being 1,2,or 3 “bad guy” guns.

The officer did a great job stopping him in only 5 rounds given the attackers determination and the fact that he did so while literally running for his life backwards in w circle.

Yeah that was a pretty sobering reminder.

    Hmmm.

Lord, what a ring around the rosie sandwich to deal with. I feel for all involved—I agree that it looks like both officers knew this guy.

Those were some big knives, too. Surreal, and a bad day all around.

Also a great illustration of how fast things happen.

One of my first thoughts (I could be wrong) is the suspect has psychosis issues.
