    On the Hawkeye, they're offset vertically, so you use two different ring heights. The vertical height difference becomes the increment in ring height variation, so if you want to go up or down a step, you keep one of your rings but move it to the other position and get one new ring that's the height needed (up or down).

    RPRs and RAs are made to be compatible with "normal" stuff.
    My 77/357 had the priority rail. I was never able to get that rifle to group with any consistency. I thought about changing the scope mounts but that wasn't an option. I just sold the rifle eventually. Bolt rifles that won't shoot 1-2 moa don't interest me. I can usually get optimal precision from a rifle with load development. That Ruger defied some intense load development.
