I disagree with abolishing early voting. When I lived in metro Atlanta, the wait in line for early voting for a Presidential election was more than two hours and the wait on election day was more then eight hours. The issue was that the full capacity was only needed once every four years, so polling precincts were sized for much lower turnout. We can debate the reasons for that issue, but the problem happened like clockwork every four years. When we left metro Atlanta in 2007, we voted in a Publix grocery store. Voters caused the parking lot to overflow. Most people missed most or all of a day of work. Early voting knocked that down to a few hours after work.
The only way I would agree with abolishing early voting is if election day is a national holiday.
