Took the family to Mendocino National Forest for a few days to get away from the cesspool that is the SF Bay Area. Unfortunately the fires prevented me from getting as remote as I would have liked but still a great time.

Earlier this spring I crossed a gravel creek bed that the other side was a bit soft from all the snow melt and runoff. 4 low and 5 minutes of shovel work popped it out. Good thing, as I was miles and miles from anywhere..

A couple weeks ago high in the mountains, overlooking the Pahsimeroi Valley of Elmer Keith fame.

Going to a shoot in Salmon Idaho. It was around 20 below zero when I started the Land Cruiser.

It was cold enough that I had to run my little pack stove in the cab to warm it up for a bit before I headed to the shoot.

It was a good shoot for confirming how stuff works in extreme temps.

The wife and I took the WJ out on some bumpy forest roads. Aspens aren't turning yet.
