I had a couple of Smith 1006's back in the day. Sold them all when mags got pricey. Now I have a Glock 40 as my sole 10mm pistol.

Those of you gents with the 10mm GP100 - any chrono or other data on 'hot' 10mm loads from Underwood, etc in the GP100? Any loads it particularly favors for accuracy?
Now a Winchester 1873 in 10mm would be awesome !
I have the MC 10mm. I like it but I’m pretty frustrated with cast bullet accuracy. The chamber throats are a bit on the large side and a bullet sized .402 slips through a lot more easily than I’d like.
Jacket bullets shoot well, Sig Elite 180 FMJ TC groups a little over 2” at 25 yards from the bench. That’s a pretty hot one, too. It consistently averages around 1,250 FPS from the 4” revolver.
The only chrono data I had for my 3” 10mm GP was my hand loads. It gets 1205fps with a 180gr Gold Dot over BE-86, the same load in my 5” 10mm SR1911 is 1250fps which is where I wanted my 180gr SD loads to be. Both guns seem to prefer 180-200gr bullets over the lighter 155gr I used in my previous 10mm.
Good info, thanks! 180 grain bullet looks like the weight to go to take advantage of the 10mm bore. 1250/180 load is more than I want to attempt with a 357. This load would handle 95% of my field problems, as this gun is dedicated to that purpose.
Personally I prefer heavy cast bullets with a wide flat nose around 900 FPS for that purpose.
Such loads are good out to 50 yards or a hair longer, predictable terminal performance, and a whole lot easier on the gun and me.
Thinking of putting the 10 mil on the block and going for the 5-shot .44 special.
Very nice Zeke38. I thought shooting 10mm in an autoloader was fun. In a wheelgun it's outstanding!
I cast a 200gr WFN NOE bullet that’s around 1,100fps out of my SR1911.

Six gallon jugs of water won’t stop that load at 20’. It’s not hard to throttle it back to your 900fps load.
