Canick TP9 auto-forward/fired out of battery

One my students posted this is in our alumni group on Facebook. He was reloading a TP9 and it auto-forwarded before the mag was seated, stripping a round (that may have volcanoed out of the mag for all I know) and firing out of battery. The mark on the bullet matches the bottom of the feed ramp. He's uninjured and said the gun seems unharmed.

I'm guessing the third rail of the slide slammed into the primer when the round was stopped against the feed ramp and boom?

    Freakish.
