At least that NY cop went after it and was trying. Breaking off to get back to his partner with a large hostile crowd was not a bad decision. The 1st video being set in Canada, oh, well, that explains...absolutely nothing. A very smart man said “Policing is regional” and I get it, but that was un-frickin-sat.
I'm sure the Canadian officer thought of the absolute nightmare he would experience if he shot the suspect. In my county, the socialist county executive still crows about an unarmed suspect who got the better of an officer in a fight and had to be shot. O, course, he also crows about the last two suspects armed with knives who had to be shot. All of these were on video and the last one looked like a scene from a horror movie where the suspects sprinys at the officer at high speed.
Oddly enough, he hasn't mentioned the armed bougaloo bois shot by SWAT during a raid despite the social media bleating by the suspect's supporters.

Many believe he'll be a one-term county executive. There is also a petition to amend the county code to require council voting by district so that the more moderate op-county areas have some representation which is currently held by the inside-the-Beltway liberal areas.
I was afraid term limits might comeback to haunt us and they have.
