    Week 379: 26662

Results may be posted until August 9th, 2020.

    Designed By: Todd Louis Green
    Range: 3-7 yards
Target: one 6" circle and two 2" circles – download here: http://pistol-training.com/wp-conten...2/2two1six.jpg
Start Position: from concealment or a duty/retention holster
    Rounds Fired: 25

The 26662 drill is a changing gears drill that challenges you to switch between low% and high% targets at speed. Choose a distance of 3, 5, or 7 yards depending on your skill level.

You will shoot this drill five times. Using a shot timer, record your time for each run.

The drill is shot as follows:

    1. Draw and fire one shot to one of the 2" dots.
    2. Transition to the 6" dot and fire three rounds at it.
    3. Transition to the second 2" dot and fire one round at it.

So you fire 2", 6" 6" 6", 2" (thus the name of the drill... duh). Do not take extra makeup shots. Be sure you have at least five rounds loaded in your pistol before drawing each time; if you mismanage your ammunition and need to reload in the middle of the drill it still counts.

At the end of five runs you should have five hits in each of the two 2" dots and fifteen hits in the 6" dot.

If your range does not allow you to draw from a holster, begin the drill from your preferred ready position.

Please report the following when you post your results in this thread:

Start position (concealed, duty, or ready).
    Distance.
Total time for all five runs.
Total number of hits on each of the 2" dots (maximum 5 each).
Total number of hits on the 6" dot (15 maximum).
Make & model of gun and holster.
    Anything you noticed

Training with firearms is an inherently dangerous activity. Be sure to follow all safety protocols when using firearms or practicing these drills. These drills are provided for information purposes only. Use at your own risk.

    3 yards

Time for all runs - 15.06
    1st 2" dot - 5 hits
    2nd 2" dot - 4 hits
    6" (5.5" black for me) - 14 hits

    1. 3.20 clean
    2. 2.87 clean (barely broke the edge of the 2")
    3. 3.00 -1 6"
    4. 3.04 -1 2"
    5. 2.95 clean

I used a b8 and shot the black as my 6" with two 2" stickers above. Ran at 3 to add variety to my session, which didn't have much up close. Felt slow. Noticed hesitation between transitions which hovered in the .5 range...need to watch the sight lift and get moving rather than letting it settle and considering the worlds problems prior to moving my eyes and the gun.

I wasn't driving the gun to the center of the target on the high % and it shows. pulled one lower left than the rest, resulting in a mike. Over transitioned on the 4th run and missed a 2".

    3 yards

    4.36, 4.55, 4.73, 4.53, 4.42 = 22.59 total

All hits except the last shot on the last 2" dot. Hits on the bigger dot were about a 3" group, but split times were mostly under .3.

My big takeaway was that my first shots were slow. Felt I was having trouble picking up the sights. I need to work on press-outs and getting the gun flat; I think I haven't quite adapted to the grip angle vs. my previous gun (G19).

Glock 17MOS with Vortex Venom, concealed with JMCK AIWB.

    3 Yards:
    Total time: 22.30 sec
    2 inch circle hits: 9/10
    6 inch circle hits: 15/15.

    7 Yards:
    Total time: 27.61 sec.
    2 inch circle hits: 7/10.
    6 inch circle hits: 15/15

All of the misses and slowest time were on the first 2 inch circle shot. I need to work more dry fire on presentation from the draw and settling the dot quicker but steadier on the first shot. Need more dry fire.
