    glue leather to Kydex

Any suggestions for an adhesive that will glue a leather backer onto a Kydex holster?

I recently saw an interview with Bill Rogers and he talked about the difficulty getting them to glue together when he was developing holsters. Maybe one of the Wilson Combat videos?

I remember that, too. Pretty sure it was on Gun Guys. Basically the same method used to adhere retread tire treads for heavy trucks. Involved baking at about 350F.

I also use it on the range instead of staples for my B8 targets.

If you're going to do the 3M spray, I believe 90 is stronger/more permanent than 77.

Custom Carry Concepts used to offer a AIWB with a leather backing. Whatever he used for glue, was extremely durable.

Wonder if anyone knows him and could ask?

8-10 years ago, I glued a thin layer of leather the the inside of a CTAC after wet forming it to the holster. Let it dry and used 3M 77. Though it’s in the pile of “Holster lessons learned”, it’s still attached.

One of the guys who works for me runs a pretty successful side business of handmade leather goods. He felt very confident that a contact cement would be the way to go, with the prep of roughing up the surfaces and making sure they were cleaned and degreased.
