Proud to be American - Celebrating the 4th of July

Given how our country seems to be going to hell in a handbasket, I thought I'd create a thread to celebrate Independence Day, and specifically the moments in American history that make me proud to be a citizen of this country.

I'll start. First successful kidney transplant, Brigham and Women's Hospital, 1954.

Low hanging to merely post an image...hardly low hanging for those who accomplished them.

One small step for me...several giant leaps for America.

I'm working today (some things just don't stop for the holidays), but will be home for fireworks and a nice dinner with my family later. I celebrated by ordering another JM Custom holster.

It has been a rough and crazy year, but I am thankful to live in the best country on the planet, and I think real Americans will keep us plowing through to a better future.
