Doesnt really matter, the point is the appeasement mentality which gets you CHOP etc etc. And as others have stated, yet! I think there is a big "trophy hunting" mindset afoot in the "movement" that has nothing to do with any cause and everything to do with pay attention to me.

Neither did anyone else on their block.

I think the real reason was the guy with a rifle standing in front of them. It actually sickens me to see incidents in the news when police have garbage thrown at them during such protests. This looked different in that the homeowners weren't going to allow any shenanigans on their property, and the crowd realized it too.

Sorry, you lost me when the crowd broke down a locked entrance.
Maybe some of the LEO crowd can set me straight on crime not “counting” because......”protest”.

    "Broke down a locked entrance."

It may be broken now, but it certainly seems to be intact but open in this video.

So nobody broke it down to get in. Who broke it and when would be interesting to know.

Mr. McCloskey claims they broke it down like "storming the Bastille" but his statement is directly and flatly contradicted by video evidence, which doesn't increase his credibility in my eyes.

EDIT: Additional footage of unbroken gate being held open is here.

Who you gonna believe? McCloskey, or your lyin' eyes?

No you’re spot on. Tamara leans left so she probably believes all of the protests that last month plus were peaceful. Of course in the real world when a “peaceful protester” commits a crime they give up that status and move into the criminal category. Trespassing is a crime. Therefore the horde of people threatening the homeowners were criminals - not “protesters.”

You're funny. Tell me another one!

Of course, these days it seems that "leans left" means "Doesn't have cheeto dust on her tonsils & doesn't automatically give a pass to any damfool stunt perpetrated by a cracker as long as they own a gun and are lighter than a paper bag."

It's not trespassing if the gate is unlocked?
So if a group of people decide to take a short cut through my back yard on their way between the street and alley it's all cool?

    Interesting.

Hmmm. That does seem to contradict much of the narrative offered here.
Given the destruction and arson at recent “protests”, I can’t say I blame him for having a rifle at the ready. But, in hindsight, maybe staying more out of sight until the home was actually approached/threatened would have worked better.
From that video, it appears that his visible presence with a weapon may have attracted more attention. Maybe staying inside, armed and ready would have resulted in the protesters just continuing to move past.

I realize this is Monday Morning QB-ing - so it’s more of a “Lessons Learned” thing. Kind of “what would I do differently next time?”
Nobody can really know... maybe his presence did positively influence the outcome. But it doesn’t look like it from that video.
