If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.
The grip that is on the 10mm 5" is an Altamont grip and I had a set that I put on my MC. I had to shim them an then they were secure but slick to the touch. Had a tendency to squirm under recoil. The checkered ones might work better. I finally came to peace with my MC with the Ruger/Hogue grip made for the GP44 Special. If Hogue would make those to the exact dimensions of the rubber model they would be on my gun, and they would need to be checkered.

Which means that it was in stock and ready to ship, for 4 5/8" Colt/Med frame Rugers.
It is my pleasure to be of service, your royal revolverness.

One of the War Department requirements for the .45 Colt was the ability to kill a horse at 100 yards, which it accomplished with a pointed 255-grain bullet at 900 fps. If the only thing you change is to switch to a hard-cast SWC then you improve on the ability to kill a horse.
How much more punch do any of us really need?
