My exposure to Indian soldiers is non-existent, but I did work with some of the Nepali police trained by Indian police. I was singularly unimpressed. Particularly since I'd also worked with British trained Ghurkas. The Ghurkas were older, so maybe some of it was generational, but the Indian trained guys were useless whiners with limited ability and less drive. The Ghurkas never complained about shit, did whatever was assigned to them, and were technically proficient.

I guess they’re not trying to curry favor with the Chinese?

They were up against General Tso. They'd have been eaten alive.
There's nothing civil about this war.

Meanwhile, somebody's bosom buddy, one who sends "beautiful letters" is acting out.

North Korea has blown up a joint liaison office with the South near the North's border town of Kaesong.

The move comes just hours after the North renewed threats of military action at the Korean border.https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-53060620

    Neither side had guns

The hand-to-hand combat lasted hours, on steep, jagged terrain, with iron bars, rocks and fists. Neither side carried guns. Most of the soldiers killed in the worst fighting between India and China in 60 years lost their footing or were knocked from the narrow Himalayan ridge, plunging to their deaths.

Based on the transparency in COVID-19 deaths, I have no doubt the Chinese are/will report all casualties.

In late breaking news, General Tso calls them his chickens! Apparently they were marching in two columns, A & B, when they were devoured by Chinese troops.

W.H.O. has already classified them all as Covid-19 related deaths....
