    When businesses do stuff like telling cops they need to disarm themselves before getting ice cream, I wonder what the average person living in Seattle thinks.

    Apparently this business owner never heard of the 2009 Lakewood Washington coffee shop murders. (I don't want to use the murderer's name).

    2013: After her unsuccessful run for the House, Sawant entered the race for Seattle City Council with a campaign organized by the Socialist Alternative. On November 15, 2013, incumbent Richard Conlin conceded to Sawant when returns showed him down by 1,640 votes or approximately 1% of the vote;

    2015: Voters returned Sawant to the City Council and made her the first District 3 representative in November 2015, with 17,170 votes counted for Sawant and 13,427 for Banks, or 56% to 44%

    2019: In a blow to Amazon, the socialist candidate Kshama Sawant appeared on Saturday to have beaten the business-backed Egan Orion for a seat on Seattle city council, despite an unprecedented financial effort from the tech giant. Amazon is headquartered in the city. It ploughed $1.5m into the city council election through a political action committee sponsored by the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. On election night she (Sawant) trailed Orion by 8%. But as more ballots were counted she closed the gap, and by Friday evening, with the vast majority of ballots counted, she was up by almost 4%, or about 1,500 votes.

    I think it depends on how much of her behavior voters remember. A good opponent could make hay with the right news footage.

    Kind of like the Cali resident fleeing to other states and turning them into the same liberal shitholes... same mentally diseased individual, just from a bit further away.

    I’d like to know what this little communist thinks would happen if the tech firms in the area throw in the towel and leave, taking their money with them.. Her and the rest of the city council, and mayor would have “a glorious worker’s paradise” (aka shithole) called Seattle, that would be theirs to rule, of course there would be NO cops..unless of course it was for their protection.. This little cunt desperately needs deported back to the shithole she came from....

    Actually this has already happened to some degree. Boeing, who has been here since ww2 moved a large part of their manufacturing to a right-to-work S. Carolina. The striking unions here became a production problem so the plants for the new models were built in another state.

    It's a lot easier to move tech facilities than production facilities. Probably the only reason Boeing is still here.

    True. However, as the automotive industry showed us in the 90’s after NAFTA was passed, in their mad rush to Mexico and elsewhere, whole plants CAN be moved, in Boeing’s case it no doubt would be a daunting task, but, not impossible..If I were in charge of Boeing I’d be looking for somewhere else to go, and with probably 2/3 of your workforce laid off, now would be the time to do it.. Really, they have nothing to lose..There’s plenty of other states who would be willing to cut deals on taxes, etc, and would welcome them with open arms..
